1. Focused Shockwave Therapy
Focused Shockwave Therapy (FSWT) is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses high-intensity acoustic waves to stimulate healing in damaged tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and bones.
The shockwaves are generated by a specialized device and are focused on the targeted area of the body. This therapy can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, and tennis elbow, among others.
FSWT has been shown to be an effective alternative to surgery or medication for certain types of injuries, and it is typically administered by a trained healthcare professional in a clinical setting.

2. Dry Cupping Therapy
Dry cupping therapy at Rival involves myofascial cupping and myofascial decompression (MFD) whereby cups are applied to the skin to ease soft tissue restriction, reduce pain, and improve range of motion and blood and lymphatic circulation.
It is a manual therapy based on assessing and correcting movement inefficiencies that involve placing cups on the skin to create a suction effect. The cups at Rival are made of a material such as glass.
The suction created by the cups helps to increase blood flow to the area, which can promote healing and reduce pain. Dry cupping therapy is commonly used to treat muscle tension, inflammation, and respiratory issues.

3. Dry Needling
Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that involves the insertion of thin needles into the skin and muscles to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
Unlike acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine, dry needling is based on western medicine and anatomy. The needles are typically inserted into trigger points, which are tight knots of muscle that can cause pain and discomfort.
The goal of dry needling is to release tension in the muscles, improve circulation, and reduce pain. It is often used to treat conditions such as chronic pain, headaches, and back pain.

4. Instrumented Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM)
Instrumented Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) is a manual therapy technique used to treat musculoskeletal conditions. It involves using specifically designed tools, such as stainless steel instruments, to detect and treat soft tissue dysfunctions, including scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and muscle tension.
The therapist applies pressure and uses the instruments to break up adhesions and stimulate tissue repair, which can improve the range of motion and reduce pain. IASTM is often used in combination with other therapies such as exercise and stretching to achieve optimal results.

5. Thermotherapy
Thermotherapy is a type of therapy that involves the use of heat to treat various medical conditions. This can be achieved through various methods, such as hot water baths, hot packs, heating pads, and ultrasound.
The application of heat to the body helps widen the blood vessels and increase blood flow to the skin. It is also used to relax muscles, and reduce pain and stiffness.
Thermotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, and chronic pain. It is often used in combination with other therapies, such as exercise, stretching, and massage, to achieve optimal results.

6. Exercise Therapy
Exercise therapy, also known as therapeutic exercise, is a form of physical therapy that uses physical activity and targeted exercises to help patients recover from injuries, disabilities, or chronic conditions.
The exercises are designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, as well as enhance overall physical function. At Rival, we customized to meet the individual needs of each clientand is done in a supervised setting at our performance centre. The ultimate goal of exercise therapy is to improve our client’s quality of life by enhancing their physical function and reducing pain.

7. Therapeutic Ultra Sound Therapy
Therapeutic ultrasound therapy is a form of physical therapy that uses high-frequency sound waves to treat various medical conditions. The sound waves are generated by a handheld device and transmitted through the skin to the underlying tissues, where they cause vibrations that can help to increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.
Therapeutic ultrasound therapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including soft tissue injuries, joint pain, and muscle spasms. It is often used in combination with other therapies, such as exercise and stretching, to achieve optimal results.

8. Taping & Strapping
Taping and strapping are techniques used in sports medicine and physical therapy to provide support and stability to injured or unstable joints and muscles. Taping is the use of adhesive tape on the skin to support joints or muscles. Taping is commonly used for treating injuries like sprains, strains, and tendonitis.
Strapping uses elastic bandages or specialized straps to support and stabilize a joint or muscle. It can be applied in various configurations to provide targeted support and compression, which can reduce swelling and improve mobility. Strapping is often used for treating knee or ankle instability, and shoulder impingement.
